Jacoby Brissett's Sack Helps Jets Upset Patriots
New York Jets quarterback Jacoby Brissett was sacked five times in the team's 22-17 win over the New England Patriots Monday night.
The fourth sack came at a crucial moment in the game, as the Patriots were driving for a potential game-winning field goal late in the fourth quarter. The sack forced the Patriots to settle for a field goal and gave the Jets the ball back with a chance to run out the clock.
Brissett's sack total was the most by a Jets quarterback since Sam Darnold was sacked six times in a Week 16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in 2019.
The Jets defense was able to generate pressure on Patriots quarterback Mac Jones throughout the game, finishing with four sacks and 10 quarterback hits.
The Jets also intercepted Jones twice, including one by cornerback Sauce Gardner that sealed the win in the final minutes.
The Jets' win snapped a two-game losing streak and improved their record to 3-3 on the season. The Patriots fell to 2-4 with the loss.
The Jets will host the Denver Broncos next Sunday, while the Patriots will travel to Cleveland to face the Browns.
