Minnesota looks to sweep Phoenix on Sunday
Anthony Edwards scored 40 points and Karl-Anthony Towns added 28 as the Minnesota Timberwolves pulled away late to beat the Phoenix Suns 116-104 on Friday night, taking a 3-0 lead in the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs.
The Timberwolves led by just two points with less than four minutes to play, but Edwards and Towns combined to score Minnesota's final 10 points to seal the victory.
Devin Booker led the Suns with 25 points, while Deandre Ayton added 19 points and 11 rebounds. But Phoenix shot just 40.2% from the field and was outrebounded by Minnesota 51-36.
The Timberwolves will look to sweep the Suns on Sunday in Phoenix. Game 4 is scheduled to tip off at 3:30 p.m. ET.
